Our client in Montreal has an opportunity for a contract position for three Embedded
Software Designers.

Business Unit Description:

The mandate is to provide software development services to all the wireless product groups and has successfully achieved the SEI CMM

Level 5 certification. Some of the project work that is currently underway in the centre includes :
* Development of enhanced functionality for the two way radio infrastructure that is used by public safety (police and fire

departments)
* Tools to configure the cellular subscriber units
* Tools to configure the network elements of cellular and two way radio infrastructure
* Software applications for public safety that utilize the wireless communications networks.
* Test and load tools for various network elements (cellular and two way radio)
Software projects are executed by teams ranging in size from 2 to 30 engineers led by a Project Manager. Duties that project team

members are expected to perform are described below.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
=======================
Design and develop software applications for use on the Windows and/or embedded platforms for various products.

Participate in different software production processes (analysis, design, coding, testing).


Specific Knowledge/Skills
=================

Ability to work effectively in a team environment or on individual assignments
Ability to work to deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written English
Candidates must be flexible, willing to learn, analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Software development experience in one or more of the following areas :
Embedded Platforms Experience developing embedded software running on a variety of Real Time operating systems such as
VxWorks, pSoS, Linux Exposure to the use of low level troubleshooting tools such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, Labview etc.

Exposure to working on platforms such as RISC H/W platform (PowerPC QUICC) and MPC 860.

Product Design Tester:
* Develop test fixtures including S/W and H/W.
* Provide technical support to the engineering group that
may include trouble-shooting, design of experiments and part substitution
* Provide design support that may include product testing, industry standard testing
* Design and build hardware for test and automation
* Creation of product specific test plans
* Interface with product design teams in providing test engineering support during new product launches.

Requirements

* Qualified candidate must have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering or equivalent experience
* 2 years experience in manufacturing engineering in electronic-mechanical industry
* Working knowledge of test tools such as Labview CVI, LabWindows/CVI
* Solving component, design, test equipment and/or process related production problems.
* C, C++ Minimum of 2 years related work experience in test engineering, H/W design or embedded system development.
* Data acquisition experience

CA Unicenter System Administrator (Montreal perm 55-75K)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Replace proprietary tools with CA Unicenter’s tools set (SDO,RCO and AMO)
Build server and perform OS Installation
Performance & capacity planning
Availability, performance, & capacity monitoring
Configure Server Virus protection
System (access) administration

The Technical Automation QA Tester will work in conjuction with Operational/Project Quality Assurance Testers to develop test automation scripts for regression and functional testing using Compuware's QARUN tool.
