Seeking a consultant to manage the conversion of a sizeable MySQL Database from a stand-alone Windows to a clustered Linux environment. Successful candidate must be adept at setting up clustered UNIX environments using Redhat Linux. Must have experience clustering MySQL where nodes are kept in synch. This position is responsible for the support and operation of our many databases. Analyzes, designs, creates and implements complex database structures considering access methods, device allocations, security and performance issues.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Database Management – Enriches and updates the database, including third party db Integration.
2. Database Administration.
3. Database Quality Control.
4. Liaison to Marketing.
5. Works with the Product Development Team to ensure understanding and consistency between products and the database. Implements, codes and tests product interfaces. Creates feasibility studies for new products.
6. System Architecture – Develops strategies for system usage and Load Balancing. Researches new system architecture. Benchmarks systems/concepts and consults with third parties for productive solutions.

Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelor degree in a related discipline, or an equivalent educational and work experience, with typically 8 plus years working on the computer platform as a programmer or DBA with a minimum of 2 years experience programming with the target DB2. Strong knowledge of C, C++. Preference to candidates with HP3000 hardware experience. Good verbal and written communication skills.

Certification summary

CISSP - To complete the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), candidates must have 3 years IT security experience, and pass an exam on the IT Security CBK (Common Book of Knowledge), which is the summary of the 40 books comprising the ITIL standards. This certification assures a security professional well rounded in all 10 IT security domains. In addition, the candidate must adhere to a strict code of ethics, and update their skills yearly or forfeit the accreditation.

CISA - To complete the CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certification, candidates must have completed a comprehensive exam, and completed 5 years work experience in IT security and auditing. Information covered includes the ITIL standards, divided into the 10 IT security domains. Auditors are thoroughly trained in examination and reporting on all policies and procedures regarding IT security, data safety and integrity, and alternate processing ability. The role of the auditor in today's workplace is to examine IT practices with a depth not seen by other IT staff, and to report on the overall effectiveness and weaknesses. To complete this accreditation, candidates must take an additional oath of strict ethical guidelines.

CBCP - With extensive study, two years experience specifically in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning, and 75% on a professional certification exam, one can complete the CBCP certification. BCP follows the professional practices of the Disaster Recovery Institute of Canada, taught through about a dozen courses in business continuity planning, business impact assessments, and incident command systems for corporations.

CISM - The CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) certification has been completed, but will not be awarded until December 2003. This course trains seasoned IT security professionals who have 5 years hands-on experience, and 3 years management experience in the adherence to ITIL standards as it pertains to management decisions and analyses. Focuses include risk management, quantitative approaches to IT security management, IT leadership in an evolving environment, and IT&S reporting to senior management.

Telecom Wireless Product Manager

The Product Manager position provides a highly motivated individual an opportunity to develop market/product strategies and communicate product capabilities to both internal/external customers. In addition, the successful candidate will develop leading edge wireless product line expertise and participate in strategic partnerships/acquisitions decision process.

The Product Manager will report to the Director of Product Management and will be responsible for supporting wireless product line in high growth global telecommunications markets. This person must possess vision/creativity to develop winning product strategies to stay ahead of the competition and champion change by challenging the status quo in support of new ideas.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Product Manager will have the following major responsibilities:
* Product Management – manage wireless products (i.e. product roadmap, requirements, product life cycle, pricing strategy, etc.). Work closely with many organizations (R&D, Sales, System Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing, etc.) to support / enable customer specific solutions to grow business.
* Product Marketing – work together with Marketing to develop content and communicate state-of-the-art wireless solutions to both internal / external customers.
* Product Strategy - set product direction by developing product strategies, as well as analyze / recommend potential alliance partnerships.

SKILLS
The candidate must be able to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
* Product Management – Software life cycle management, experience in writing technical requirements documentations, and good presentation skills are a must.
* Telecommunications - have been working in a telecommunications organization and/or strategic consulting and obtained a wide telecommunications experience base. Experience in data communications particularly in IP edge products is required, and wireless data experience with particular focus on 3G edge products such as PDSN, HA, GGSN, and SGSN is preferred.
* Organizational – have shown the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously, work across the organization, and drive Product Management activities.
* Interpersonal - have demonstrated the ability to deal / communicate effectively with customers / partners and must be able to effectively recommend strategies.

EXPERIENCE
In order to be successful in this role, the candidate will need experience with the mobile wireless core products.
Must have at least one of the following:
* Voice over IP PLM experience
* Video over IP PLM experience
* IMS/MMD PLM experience

EDUCATION
The candidate must have a Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science. MBA is a plus.
